เพียง

adv. conj. 1. only, merely, so much, that much;

2. (as a conjunction) only, but, except that.

As a conjunction-synonym. หากแต่, เพียงพอ adv. adj. v. enough, adequate, sufficient, ample. Usage- เพียง, เพียงไร, เพียง ... เท่านั้น, เพียงใด.

เงินเพียงเท่านั้นใช้ได้ไม่ถึงสามวัน That much money won't last three days.

ผมเพียง (เพียงแต่) ต้องการจะบอกความจริงกับคุณเท่านั้น I only wanted to tell you the truth. เขามีเงินมากมายเพียงใด How rich is he? คุณจะไปเที่ยวก็ได้ เพียงแต่ต้องกลับมาเร็ว ๆ You can go for a stroll, only (but, except that) you must return soon. ผมมีรายได้เพียงพอที่จะอยู่กินไปอย่างสบาย I have adequate means to live comfortably.
